Miles Lee-Hargreaves in action at the Surf Snowdonia Pro Surf Challenge

Bude Surfer Miles Lee Hargreaves has clenched his first tour victory at the Surf Snowdonia Pro Surf Challenge 2018. This was a vital win for Miles which puts him top of the leaderboard a favourite to win that juicy £5000 prize handed out by sponsors Fistral Beach at the end of the tour.

30 pro surfers travelled out to Snowdonia in North Wales to compete in the only inland wave pool competition in the country. Miles came all the way up from Cornwall, having surfed the wave pool only a couple of times before but showed us and our audience that he only came for the win.
In the first round Miles scored an excellent 7.83 putting him 4th in the qualification leaderboard for the final heats. In the quarters he smashed it beating Logan Nicol in the first 3 exchanges sending him straight through to the semi-finals. Drawing Jobe Harris, previous tour champion, in the semi-finals saw full on action and it came down to the last exchange where Miles took the win.

The Final was some of the best surfing we have ever seen at Surf Snowdonia. Miles was up against Patrick Langdon-Dark the Welsh Men’s Champion so the pressure was on. A brutal head to head then took place, with the surfers so evenly matched, they had to watch several replays to make a decision. With little to choose between the two, Miles finally clinched it with a 2-1 decision from the judges.
