As part of our ongoing investment in British professional surfing, the UKPSA Pro Surf Tour website has undergone a substantial upgrade to provide more information to our audience and competitors about the surfing events on the Tour. The most exciting news is the Live Webcast of our events through our purpose built studio and edit suite in Cornwall, with UK’s best commentary teams including Lee Bartlett, Nick Williams and Sam Smart at the beach, plus many others.
The new information provided on the site includes competitor profiles in addition to competition history and other relevant information so our athletes can raise their profile and gain support to compete in surfing events. In addition to this, our scoring system has also gone digital with bespoke heat scoring and ranking software. There will now be no more printed score sheets at events as surfers and our audience can see all the results, wave by wave instantly on the website. A new ranking system is also in place giving details in all categories of who we believe are the top surfers in the UK based on their performance on the UK’s only professional surf tour.
By developing this platform, we aim to raise the profile of British surfing and competitive surfers and help engage with sponsors and commercial partners looking to support professional surfing.
Dave Reed, Tour Director said: “As we continue to work with our digital media partners Sumo Media, live broadcasting and our digital offering will continue to develop and provide more resources to make professional surfing more open to the public and easier to understand and give competitive surfers in the UK more exposure and greater rewards for their achievements.”
