The home of British surfing, Fistral Beach will again be supporting British Professional Surfing for the 2018 season.
Not only will be there be a prize purse of £2000 at every event on the tour this year, there is also an added incentive, the tour Men’s OPEN winner will pick up a £5000 cheque from Fistral Beach, encouraging surfers to push their performance to be the best in the UK.
Speaking of their support of the tour Jenny Briant of Fistral Beach said “Fistral Beach is the home of British surfing and we are extremely proud to be supporting the sport from its grassroots to elite level. By adding a financial incentive we hope to push the level of British surfing and provide a platform for the amazing talent that we have here in the UK. This money will help the winner of the UKPST progress and pursue a life in the professional global circuit.”
Last year’s champion Reubyn Ash said “Without the financial support the tour gives me through prize money, I would not be able to live the lifestyle and compete at the highest level. I’d like to thank Fistral Beach for helping British surfing”
Dave Reed Tour Director also commented, “I’d like to thank Fistral beach for supporting the tour again. By giving this incentive surfers will be pushing their boundaries to perform at the highest level. Not only do they support professional surfing, but they provide an elite surf school and community support with their groms surf club.”
